Seeing as this is my first entry, let me introduce myself. My name is Tiffany and I'm a photographer. As a young girl I was completely enamored with pictures in magazines. The beauty. The glamour. The elite status that somehow is always connected to images printed worldwide. I loved all of it, and still do! The funny thing is, I never thought about the creators and process behind the pictures I pasted all over my walls. And then, it happened. I signed up for my first photography class.
For a couple years I was taking pictures of my friends, family, and even strangers. One problem. The photos didn't always come out how I planned. WTF??!?!! Determined to perfect my craft, I took a binder of CVS one-hour developed photographs to my high school photography teacher. I threw them on his desk and said "Now what?!" (ok so maybe I didn't throw them) I earned a bachelor degree in Communications, was working at a law firm, and had no clue what I wanted to be when I "grew up." One thing I was certain about is photography. But, photography as a career??? Seriously? I never could have imagined that the suggestion my former instructor made would change my life. Hallmark Institute of Photography. With one glance at their website I was sold.
A short two months later, I found myself packing my little Honda Civic and moving to a small town in Massachusetts to attend a ten month photography school, Hallmark Institute. While attending Hallmark, I learned how to create the crazy ideas that popped into my head. Not to mention the connections and friendships that were made. Best ten months ever.
I'll have to write more later about my post-Hallmark experience....what a ride it has been....
