Well we are underway for deployment. We left Norfolk yesterday and set sail to pick up the Marines who will be on board with us. I was able to get my photo stuff steup. I brought my D200 setup with tripod, my laptop, hard drives, scanner and DVD/CD burner. I also brought the remaining several thousand slides and negatives I need to scan. I have a great team on board and they make it easy for me to get my work done so I can work with my photography.
The hard part is leaving the family behind. My wife and youngest son came to the pier yesterday morning to watch us get underway as we had said our goodbyes the previous night when I embarked on the ship.

Does the fear of success still exist? Yes. Why? I don't know. So many companies seemingly want to forge through the front lines to stand out and then, when given the tools, back down and retire to the same complacent position they were when they hired us.
If you have a good example of this, please share. No matter the industry or size of company. Let's figure out how we can sooth the worries that so many have.

Seeing as this is my first entry, let me introduce myself. My name is Tiffany and I'm a photographer. As a young girl I was completely enamored with pictures in magazines. The beauty. The glamour. The elite status that somehow is always connected to images printed worldwide. I loved all of it, and still do! The funny thing is, I never thought about the creators and process behind the pictures I pasted all over my walls. And then, it happened. I signed up for my first photography class.
For a couple years I was taking pictures of my friends, family, and even strangers. One problem. The photos didn't always come out how I planned. WTF??!?!! Determined to perfect my craft, I took a binder of CVS one-hour developed photographs to my high school photography teacher. I threw them on his desk and said "Now what?!" (ok so maybe I didn't throw them) I earned a bachelor degree in Communications, was working at a law firm, and ...
