Graphic designers have an ever expanding vocabulary when it comes to describing the work they do. What was once a mark is now a trademark, logo, logotype, or identity design. Or is it branding? How do you describe that aspect of design that relates to your client's identity? |

Nowadays, design firms are all a buzz with a service they offer called “identity design”. Critical to their business is selling clients on the fancy name that implies something more than “just a logo.” You say tomato, I say tomahto. So what IS the difference between a logo and identity design? It could be night and day, depending on where you shop for design.
