It is tedious and a waste of time having to read through EVERY post on a topic.
Threads are a basic organizational tool. They would also help keep you from getting the same thoughts/wishes/complaints over and over. (I'm not going to scan through more than 500 posts to see if someone else mentioned not being able to view PDFs within a protfolio, I'm just going to post my thoughts, then let you sort through everything.)
Check out Craig's List. They have it right.

If I understand what you are saying...Maybe this will help. They are organized by topic. If a topic becomes popular, we create a new category. Group - Category - Message (Thread) (No sub threads (conversations) llike craigs list as this tends to confuse new people.) If you want to find specific words, use the search. One of my favorite features (probably only for those of us who are here a lot) - is the NOT READ section. Thereby I can see everything that is new to me - very cool. If I am new, there is the Active FOrums button that helps me see what's popular...or I can see where everyone is posting by the count. |
