Hi There

RE PORTFOLIOS:

In my opinion, these might make portfolio loading and display more satisfying:

• Allow jamusers to determine the order files are displayed despite the order they are uploaded.

• Allow jamusers to pick which image leads off the flash accordian display

• Skip the mid-layer click and image, just go to a large image with caption

• Most of all, link the accordian images to the caption and larger pix. Now, in order to see the captions, you have to look into the smaller images below the accordian and clik on the one you liked in the accordian.

• Move the slider control to the top of the accordian display. It now conflicts with the pretty reflection of art work in the "surface" below each image. Or make it a vertical slider at the side.

• Subdue the images slightly that are waiting in line on either side in the accordian display. They are now somewhat distracting to the central image.

• Set up the "views" counter so that it does not count a user's own views of his or her own work (This could only be accomplished when a user is logged in, so if you look at your work without logging in, you will probably always be counted as a viewer, unless the jamuse programmers can link the views counter to the email address of the viewer, and ignore any views by anyone whose computer hosts the same email address as the member whose work is being reviewed.) This would also prevent a member from artificially inflating the views count on his or her work in order to get it into the rotation of most viewed images on the home page.

• There are bugs in the dialog boxes that let you add captions and titles to images. On my imac, I can only successfully add captions by changing the assets listing to the line-for-line option with tiny thumbnails, and then double clicking on the thumbnail to access the smallish "update" box where the title and caption can be typed and saved. The dialog box that appears with a single click of any thumbnail, although it says you can enter a caption, in my experience, this entry is never saved or loaded, and you have to go back and do a double click on the tiny thumbnail in order to access the second box that will allow you to save a caption successfully.

RE PROFILES:

• Put the contact information that now appears to the right of the avatar, put it below the avatar. Anyone who has a long email address and/or web site address (as I do) finds those fields are automatically broken into two lines becuase there is not enough width between the avatar and the body copy of the profile. More this data flush left below the avatar and increase single line character width of those fields by about 20 characters.

• There is not s specific place to lead off the profile with a company name. The contact information dialog box should have an optional "company name" field. In my case, a viewer has to read into the body copy of the profile before he or she comes across my company name.

Thanks

I have some thoughts on the portfolio section:  personally, I don't like the flip files; I would rather the user just see the images as they are below the flip (accordian slide show) files.  I feel that it's faster to look at thumbnails than to go through the flip show.

I would like to see multiple portfolios displayed.  Unless I'm missing something, images can be made public and included in the portfolio but there is no way to keep different styles separate from each other.  I would like to be able to have one portfolio of portraits, one for fashion, another for landscapes, etc.  I can put images into different "projects" but they all show up in the same portfolio.

I like how the profile area shows 4 images from the portfolio with the "see more' option button.  Now if we could make multiple portfolios that are displayed the same way.

I hope I'm being clear with this assesment; if not, please contact me for clarification.

I'm with jautzphoto on the multiple portfolio views - I have many styles - some of which I would like to keep completley seperate from my "regular" stuff and some clients might find it confusing going from one genre to another in one big section of photos.
