I have a couple of nagging thoughts and questions about the public portfolio images that one sees when looking at a user's profile.
In my view, it seems like there are some wasted clicks and wasted time involved in the process of looking at others' work. When I click on a user's portfolio, I can:
1) Click "Portfolio" and flip through the accordion feature, as far as there are images, or scroll down and see all the images. I find myself scrolling and looking at the thumbnails and bypassing the accordion since it's not fully functional and the size difference isn't enough to make it worth the wait for accordion images to load.
2) Click on a thumbnail from step 1, a new screen appears with an image the same size as the accordion image with comment box.
3) Click on the image from step 2, a popup window shows me a larger image.
Why step 2? Can the comments box be included to step 3? Can step 3 not be a popup? Popup blockers may prevent users from seeing the larger image and probably give potential clients a reason to not stay and fuss with it. I know this has been mentioned in other threads.
I find myself not looking at portfolio images beyond the thumbnails because the process seems not very time and energy efficient. This may just be me, but I'd like to see clicks minimized here. Perhaps eliminate the accordion and put thumbnails and large images on the same page? Or make the accordion images bigger and eliminate steps 2 and 3.
Just a thought...

Not sure what you are asking AllenW. What AllenB is referring to is the pop-up that shows the large image. You get to this by clicking on any item from a search or from someone's profile. David |
