How about a tool that will compress (and size) when I uploaded an image. Then when creating projects jamuse asks "use original image or compressed" The compressed image say 125k would load much faster for viewing than a 4 or 6 meg file. The original would be online for my clients to download.
I have been using free IrfanView to resize my images before upload. It would be nice if it were "built in".
My suggestion would be to use a B-Spline compression algorithm, rezize image around 800x600 and 80% quality. |

Bob, The images are automatically converted to 5 diffrent sizes for your use on the pubic site and for sharing privately: 1. The original file is available for sharing 2. Original size jpg - for sharing 3. .Jam file for collaboration with clients 4, 5, 6. Large, medium and small jpg for use in the public site if you make the asset public by checking it for the community and/or portfolio. Hope that helps. David |

| My only attraction to Jamuse is the large image file transfer/ client collaboration tools. But, I would like to do #'s 4,5,6 for client viewing... images would load MUCH faster in the viewer... I know I could just resize (and I do) the images using a GREAT free tool like IrfanView but I am hoping to be able to upload an original hi-res Tiff (30 megs) for transfer tot the client and then squish it down to a 125k, 800x600 @ 80% quality. If that tool exists for the public area how about letting the museworx people have it also? |

rgo, Not sure I see exactly what you are asking, so feel free to clarify. As mentioned above, you can upload your 30mb tiff and it does automatically convert it to standard sizes. One of the things you may want to try is sharing the orginal sized jpg with your client or better yet, the .jam file. David |

I think what Bob and rgoguen are talking about is that the collaborate tool opens the original file as of now. If the original file is 3 MB, then the collab tool will take a long time to open the file. Instead the collab tool could use the large thumbnail version.
Idea: In MuseWorx, under the details of the project, I can invision a "Size" drop down next to each image that the user can select: "Original", "Medium", "Small"
Thoughts?

It is the original file size, but it is not in the original format, so speed should not be an issue. I personally like the fact that I can see a very clear image and scale it to any size, so not sure I see the need for a smaller version. The graphics are placed on the canvas and need to relate to one original size. Try the scaling...its awesome. We've compared with photoshop and acrobat and it's better. David |
