Hi,
I think the site looks very professional and it's easy to navigate through. The only problem that I have is that it took awhile to upload images to my portfolio since I'm on dial up. It seems slightly faster than other sites that I've uploaded images to, however, and the pages themselves seem faster to upload than other sites that take awhile. Thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback.

| One thing I just noticed. When I log in and go to the Advisory Board section, I have to log in again. Don't know if everyone has this problem or if it has already been mentioned. |

I only need to log in once into jamuse. When I click on discussion it does not log me out. It's a developing website so, just give the developer sometime to get things working properly.

My first impression was that the overall layout and sparseness of the site if very nice. It makes things easy to find. Signing up and creating my profile was extremely easy, better then most sites I've had to create a profile for. I like that you can do everything on one site... Show your work, share files, and upload and share files. I haven't uploaded any files yet. Once I tink around a bit, I'll let you know any constructive feedback I find. |

| Oh, I also had to logout and login again in order to show that I was authorized to post on the advisory board. It wasn't really a big deal to me, but it would be nice for new advisory members to not have to do that in order to do their first post. |

| Also, the "remember login" feature doesn't work. At least for me. I keep checking the box everytime I login. It never remembers me. A little glitch perhaps? |

What was your first impression of jamuse?
Ok, this is the first time that I have logged in so these are just preliminary comments. I like the look of the site overall. While I do not yet have a sense of how it all will work, I do have an initial comment. I have been working on my profile and I think that there should be a "preview" button for this and also for thumbnails etc. The reason for this is that I have tweaked my profile a few times and clicked the update/save button. For each time that I did this I was sent an email. 5 in all. I would rather click preview, make any necessary adjustments, see it again in preview before having to hit an update button. I would then receive only 1 email when all my changes have been made.

| At first glance...
Jamuse takes the big sigh out of getting work seen. It is excellent to be viewed in the presence of ones peers delivering a much stronger showing as a linked together worldwide
working creative community.
I am delighted to serve on the Site Advisory Board. |

When I update my profile it sends me through the 4 step process - I think you should be able to choose which step you would like to update. When it is on step 3 (personal info) it keeps some data, but not all (cell number and region is gone, but city and website info stays), is there a reason why it is doing this? I am still exploring... Cheers! |

Yes . . . we have the same issue as well. Obviously, this will need to be corrected.

This is my first 20 minute impression....so forgive anything that should be blatenly obvious... :) - Uploading the bio picture (avatar) was easy, but the "converting" took about 3 minutes. Odd...it was only a 35k jpg. Three minutes is a long time to just wait for something to 'convert'.... :) - When I wanted to update my profile, I clicked "My Profile" from the top nav and then once on that page, there was no clear "EDIT PROFILE" button anywhere. There was a Portfolio link, so I clicked that, but that was a dead end. So I resorted to "Portfolio Setup Wizard" to change my profile. Very long way to do this.... You need a "Edit Profile" link on the profile page. - When editing your profile, there is no "State" field. Only a "Region". Who knows what a "Region" is??? It should be State. This is common throughout the web. - Somehow, I found a way to edit my profile, and I don't even remember how I "accidentally" got there. Nonetheless, when I edited it, there is MUCH more information on that page than there was by editing my profile under the Portfolio pages. Why two different pages for editing the profile? Also, it didn't load my Country. Country was blank. - Another (very) frustrating aspect of your profile editing page is the reload of the page when I choose a drop down item! There is nothing more frustrating that the page reloading! If you want to prepopulate combo boxes based on user input, use javascript/AJAX, so you don't have to reload the page. That is so frustrating. - Something else I noticed is that after you're session has timed-out (lets say you go eat dinner), then return to click on something, it takes you to the page to create a "new" account. It should take you to a page that politely tells you that your session has expired and you need to login again (not create a new account). Overall, the site design is nice. I agree with earlier posts that there needs to be a "general info" kind of page that you're first presented with when you join.....that actually becomes part of your main portfolio page - until you remove it. The speed of the site seems acceptable, but obviously, it's very early in the game. This is just 20 minutes of playing around. I hope to add more feedback once I have some time to explore. :) |

kshipp, The profile edit feature does not said is not directly shown to you. Don't be frustrated, this website is only in the developing process so bear with them. Here is the edit feature> 1) Click on my profile 2) my account settings 3) Manage my profile > everything about your profile is there. If you have problem, I would be glad to help, all I can. |

| Jamuse is going to be a great resource for my business. Sharing files, creating projects, and hosting my portfolio will take all the technical work out of trying utilize my website for these tasks. Jamuse will free me up to focus on sharing my work with clients without hassle.
Is there any way to create an option for viewing larger versions of artists work? I've noticed that flickr offers this with the artist's approval.

A few replies: Kshipp - the 3 minutes converting was just a timing thing. We recently updated the entire site to provide better performance. Pics and pages load twice as fast. In the future it will only take about one munite or less. Graphicclark - we'll look at the saving thing. Snake - you can do this now by clicking on the small image and then clicking again on the medium image. Ranga - thanks If I missed you, please let me know. David |

I m loving jamuse!! I haven't actually uploaded anything yet, just looking around, but so far it seems extremely sophisticated and is clearly geared for creative professionals. I can't wait to upload some things!! The only thing I don't like, and it's purely aesthetic and not very important, but attention to detail is a must, the buttons, specifically in the community area are simple, which is always good, but don't seem to be very creative or stylized. :) will post again once I upload a few things. |

| First impressions.. the site is clean and easy-to-use. I just uploaded a logo to test the upload file feature. I'm looking forward putting this to use when the site officially launches. I like the "Ask the expert" section .. I'm sorry, I don't remember the exact name of this section. I think that will prove to be very useful. I'm excited to share this site with my friends. |

I really like what I've seen so far. Everything looks clean and professional. I had the same problem signing in, but I'm sure that's an easy fix. I think the navigation in the "My Profile" was a little bothersome. I had to keep clicking on my profile to see the menu instead of seeing the whole list at once. It would be nice if the link menu was available at all times. It would also be nice if there was a spell checker here on the forums as well as the inbox. The fact that there is a rich text editor still doesn't change the fact that I'm going to have to copy and paste all my messages into word, before I send them out. If I have to do that I'm less inclined to use this system. I look forward to seeing how this site progresses. |

How true it is - first impressions count. At first I wondered if I had landed on a site similar to istockphoto.com and was trying to see what was for sale - the pictures in the "Showroom"? After I figured out the intent of jamuse I was then compelled to think that it is designed - pun intended - for people who are just entering the field of "commercial art". But NO, I am still discovering accomplished, talented veterans of the industry on the Advisory Board. Hmmm. What to do about that first impression? (Is it just me?) It's so close, it wouldn't take much to elevate the design up a notch. Here's what I would change on the home page: 1) I would do more to visually integrate the Flash imagery with the testimonials. Say add a background color (black or dark gray) behind both. I like the quotes, but the descriptions that fade into the pictures and the testimonial quotes are so similar in size that they compete with each other for attention. One or the other might be bigger. 2) Am getting a sense that the thumbnails for "Showroom", "Most Discussed", and "Featured Artists" are all competing with each other for importance. I think that they could all be smaller (see AIGA.org). Conversely, my preference would be to make some bigger (Showroom?) and the rest smaller. 3) Blogs. What is a heading like "Blogs" doing with an image as big as all the rest? I mean isn't a blog mostly about content - as in words...? Give readers something to bite on. Regarding the logo design: I see this has been discussed in the forums. The founders probably feel like it's been jawed to death since they've been contemplating it long before the rest of us even heard of jamuse. But you know, I think it's just fine to launch with. It can always be updated or changed in 5 or so years anyway, right? It has a cheery appeal and the name is fun. Nuf said. Many colleagues have expressed their opinions and made suggestions regarding the ease (or sometimes lack thereof) of using jamuse and museworx. I see that the concerns and suggestions are being expertly addressed by the company's founders. This leaves me with little doubt that the bugs will get worked out. I'm betting that this model of collaboration can help evolve the world of design upward to a new level of competence. Thank you!
Kristy

| well, unfortunately my first impressions were fairly off about jamuse. uploading files was a breeze, but the most important part and main reason for my use of the site(sharing files with clients to review and comment on), it is a disaster in my opinion. I tried each option, each time the client got a low res, pixelated version that only partly resembled the actual work, the only one that provided a good representation was the option to send the original file, which afforded to protection at all and gave the file straight to the client who does not have adobe cs3 and couldn't open the file. I am planning on trying the portfolio feature later today, but if I can expect the same level of protection, it will be a bust as well. Fortunately, I only sent the files to myself as a test, or else I'd be in some trouble. |

This site can't be described by any word lower in meaning than simply superb.
The functions are incredibly easy to understand and they actually respond immediately! This would be opposed to other sites that take decades just to update a description and make you jump from page to page to page to get one simple task done.
The scroll flash portfolio is absolutely STUNNING. I can't put that any better. It's especially grand in my use since what I have so far is just book cover designs. It looks like you're flipping from book to book. And it makes them look GOOD!
The only thing I might add, if it's not already added and I simply haven't found it yet, is a way to rearrage the portfolio section or perhaps categorize and sub-categorize them.
Thanks for the invitation! This place is well worth it's weight in gold.

Overall I love this site! I notice some glitches, such as when you search for other, ie by skills, with attributes of state and city it comes up with no results? Maybe a database issue? |

| The potential of this site for creatives out there is pretty incredible... it's really a great opportunity to be in on the ground floor of such an exciting new creative venture!
That being said I agree with just about everything Kristy Ewing said a little earlier... my first impression was it's a site for photographers because they are so heavily represented in the
"Showroom", "Featured Artists" sections. This may be just because photogs are the vast majority of users signed in so far. Regardless, I think the diversity of talents, trades, etc. that Jamuse features would be better communicated by showing a lot more examples of different kinds of work.
As Kristy said I think many of the issues raised are already being addressed and will be smoothed out, so thanks again for the opportunity to be involved in the launch of this new creative community.

I have to agree with Jon as my initial impression as well was that the site had a heavy focus on photographers. However, that may be based on who on the list was being invited in at the time. Would it be possible to layout the front page so that the showcase or featured artists section pulls from different professional categories i.e. a photographer, a designer, a painter, etc. And, I should mention my nit to pick... I would really like (appreciate) an added category for "Graphic Designer" as opposed to just Graphic Artist. IMHO, the keyword combination is important for targeted searches. I also believe the ability to take more control over the portfolio section would be awesome. I have a feeling that is being addressed already. On the front page what I would really like to see is a clear focus on what sets jamuse apart and makes it an important evolution in collaboration, etc. Kristy's suggestion about a Flash presentation that integrates testimonials and images would really help. Honestly, I think Museworx could be played up much more. If collaboration is the key factor that makes jamuse special then it should really be played up much more. Thanks for opportunity to share!
