Hey,

Overall, I'm very excited about this community and feel that there is a ton of potential here!! Great job so far. Being a composer-sound designer, my focus is on audio aspects and I'm having two issues:

1) MP3 playback starts with a very loud click for all of my audio files. These MP3s are well below the 100MB barrier and do not have any clicks when played through other websites, programs or stereos. I'm only finding it on this website.

Also the conversion factor seems to degrade the audio quality a bit more than needed. For example, my website (www.madsenstudios.com) has an MP3 player and the files have a much higher quality. What is the conversion set to? Perhaps this can be raised up a bit, allowing for higher fidelity and still keep files small. After all, my two songs I uploaded were around 5MB as is, so I don't see a need to further degrade the quality.

2) Video playback seems to be somewhat slow. I've uploaded several video clips that are much smaller than the clips on my website and yet are slower to download and play. With the lack of a status bar, it is hard to know when the full video is loaded up and ready to play without becoming jumpy.

I feel that I can speak for the audio community and what we'll be looking for is a site that allows for uploaded files (both video and audio) to remain...at least pretty close to the original source. After all, I'd hate for a potential client to take a look at my portfolio on Jamuse and feel that my work isn't that great because of poor conversion.

For example of how my files work check out: www.madsenstudios.com

Simply put, this site looks great but if it doesn't support higher quality (click free) audio conversion, then I feel most of the audio community will just stick with those sites that do. I'll be happy to answer any questions or supply more info. I'm happy to be on the advisory board!

Thanks,

Nathan
