My first *reaction* was "not another online portfolio site". M'affraid so. I don't know your business plan, but if people are to pay to be here, what makes it different from portfolios.com or others (or just googling with the word illustrator or portfolio)? File exchange feature (Yousendit.com..), live copy marking (PDF), and so on. And then there is the way it will be populated. Open to anyone signing in. Can I make a suggestion here: I remember many years ago (was in 1982), I participated in a **juried** exhibit in NY (New Artists at Madison Square Garden). Why don't you have a panel to accept new members based on merit? On the UI side, when you do a search, and several pages are available to navigate in, the page you are at is not highlighted making hard to find where you are at in your browsing. |

jamuse is an easier, faster better way to share your files, protect your work, showcase your talent, collaborate with clients, and manage your creative assets. By simplifying all these tasks, jamuse helps you focus more of your time, effort, and energy on what’s really important –your creative process. A portfolio site is just one part of jamuse and where others charge, we give it away for free. As the world becomes more de-centralized, companies need to not only find talent but also share files and collaborate with artists regardless of geographic location. Museworx is here to help artists and businesses world-wide. Your idea on merit is a good idea, we only want the best. |

Rob, I guess I will have to spent some more time to really grab the features and to find out the best way to make them work for me. Is there an instruction "page" somewhere in here. By instruction, I mean not where to click to do this etc. but one that would help the user use all the features you have mentioned in an organized way. Some kind of plan: if you want to do that you do: 1. this 2. This..and 3. that

Rob, just realized you just have that available, the jamuse user guide (PDF). Will read very carefully!

Hi
everybody, It's great to be here. Thank you for the invite. First a few
comments on my impression of this site. Overall I love the security settings,
very progressive & smart. I lot of other sites do not have this feature,
you'll get many more willing to join in the near future, I'm sure. One
suggestion that I have is to maybe use a smaller site logo on this website banner to
look more professional & to use fonts that are a little darker & easier
to read. The grey on white, kinda hard to read. I thought the logo might
look good in monochromatic or analogous color scheme & maybe add some
tastefully done custom graphic buttons, instead of just using plain text to choose
a sub-menu option. Another possibility would be if you would allow the
designers & artists to be able to upload their own custom background for
their portfolio, pending administrative approval first of course. Oh and maybe
adding some hyperlinks in the forums, so that when you click on that persons
name it will take you to there profile. Maybe you could also give site awards in
different categories to bring additional exposure to your artists &
photographers. Well that's all I have for now hope that helps.

| Has anyone asked where the name "Jamuse" came from? I just logged on tonight for the first time...it's 12:30 in the morning and I need to go find my dream muse. More comments later. |

Hello and thanks for the invite. I have several comments to make on the site. The overall "feel" of the site is great and the concept is great also. I had a lot of issues with getting it up and running. I spent hours with live help trying to work out why certain things weren't working. From trying to reload Firefox to updating the latest Flash player etc. My computer is really up to par and I think a lot of these things weren't necessary and shouldn't be something that we should have to go through to try and get something to work. The site should be more compatible over a wide range of browsers and players rather than specific ones. I realize this is getting more complex as more and more new technologies are developing. But truth be told most "artists" want to create NOT figure out why things aren't working. Anyway, here is a list of things I have found. 1. It needs to accept .ai files better. It has distorted the colors of many .ai files I have tried to load. Look at the faces one and you will see that only one face on that page is really correct. .ai (Adobe Illustrator files) are a much used file system in this industry and if you are interchanging files with others this file type is a MUST to be working with. 2. I loaded 8 PDF files before I realized that it wasn't really accepting them properly. All that I got was the PDF icon. This again is a basic format that should be accepted here. It is a worldwide format for publishing, printing and again is a MUST in my opinion. 3. I don't know how the site is being handled as far as development but it has to be very MAC savvy and compatible. 4. I found that at first I could not get a biography in my profile. I spent hours with Chat live trying to figure out what was wrong and why it wouldn't work. I finally updated my firefox and updated to t he lastest flash player and finally got a biography in there. 5. Also when I would try to work on something like the biography suddenly my phone number contacts would disappear and have to be rentered. Argghhhhhhh..... this happened several times. And as of yet although my cell number is in the proper area of my profile it does not show on my profile page. 6. There are a lot of bugs in the biography palette section as far as trying to get color. You think you have got one paragraph set up right and you go to another and then view it and it didn't hold or changed. I finally got it to a point where it was acceptable and then gave up. 7. As others have mentioned, why does it only flip half the pages you have loaded in your profile and not ALL of them. I like the concept but wish it would work better. 8. It works in Firefox, and Netscape but in Safari if you try to modify your biography it shows everything in HTML and does not give you the palette for styles, fonts, color etc. 9. Gary from live chat had me load the current flash player and now live chat does not work in internet explorer. Although Internet Explorer has stopped updating its program for MACs in 2005. I really don't use it anyhow but......... 10. Visually, I have noticed that a lot of peoples art are blurry, and seem distorted. And colors seem off. I know for a fact that my Winter Wonderland colors are really off (I have that same piece loaded on Createmagazine.com and it looks much better) What is that about? 11. If I am going to use this site for exchanging file formats then it would be very important that Adobe Illustrator files (.ai), Photoshop files (.psd), and PDFs load and work properly. 12. I like the concept that Createmagazine has that lets you make general comments on a persons art rather than on individual pieces and I think you should add something like that. 13. I think you need to clarify yourselfs better. Explain exactly what you are about in a simplistic form. Define the name Jamuse–where it came from, what it inspires etc right up front. 14. AND I think you need a quick start directive. I have your 30 page pdf guide downloaded and have it on one screen while I am trying to figure out something or getting something to work and I think for an artist this needs to be more simplistic. They/we want to create NOT try to figure out how to get something to work. I have done some programming at times (argghhhhh) and that mindset is totally different from what part of the brain an artist works from. 15. I did the initial wizard thing first and came back later to modify and actually load some art and it took me forever to figure out how to get to modifying my profile. At first I kept going through the wizard until with the help of live chat I figured out how to get to just editing. Anyway, you asked for my advise and I guess I have given you some. LOL. Hope this helps. The overall concept and what you are trying to do is GREAT! Lets make it a HIT. Thanks again, Pete

Good Morning All - We posted a graphical interface to your museworx landing page. Hope you enjoy. Pete good detailed feedback, support will review for us. To keep things simple, we are preparing a few short videos on "how to..." and examples of use in the industry. We should have those ready by early next week. As of this morning we are in 61 countries. We are looking for a handful of advisory board members that can help us welcome new members (world-wide). Congratulations to Alex Fox from South Carolina, he has risen to the challenge. Good job Alex! We will be forming small groups for various tasks; committees like welcome, marketing, public relations and so on. You have interest? Send me a message. Make it a great day - rob |

I find when I send messages in some areas the emoticons (is that the right word-the smiley faces) don't always work. I sent one to Mungo about his hilarious avatar and wanted to to add a smiley and it wouldn't work. Also I received a message from administrators that they had moved a posting of mine to another area suggestions or something and once I read it I couldn't reopen it to read it again. I would like to be able to delete my own messages. There are times when I want to reread them or may need info from them. Thanks, Pete |

Pete your recent post is now under "jamuse New Feature Requests and Ideas." This is the area we use for new suggestions. Also I am having support review your other requests. All good comments, thanks. We are posting a new forum area to tap all of the talent we have around jamuse. It should be posted by tonight. Thanks to all. |

| I would love to know where to find my thread subscriptions. I go to my Profile page but there is no options for the subscriptions. I think users should be able to decide what to stay subscribed to or not more easily. It is very frustrating to have to search about for something that simple. |

First impression: The website looks cheap, like the white products in my supermarket. It needs to be pimped up. After walking through : I like the complete concept, portfolie, connections... and the JAM file looks interesting, when working with a client far away.Something new and usefull. More: For the artist ofcourse thumbnailes should be in good quality, option to publish bigger sizes should be available to show work, and different galleries are needed for the artist. The concept looks very interesting!!!!! Sandy Viktor Nys |

Well my first impression of the site is nice clean look, fairly intuitve. Finding new people is a bit labored and is done best by typing in words in the search engine. It would be nice if I could attach images in the Blog I create. I would like to have a place to let other artists know what projects I am working on. It would be useful if we could attach images to emails or attach text when sharing an image file. It may be possible now, but I haven't figured it out yet. Keep crankin'. I think this has potential for greatness. |

I think you can attach any file to a blog and it is also accepts html if you want to pull in a picture or a whole web page. Be careful though as bad html code can make everything a mess.
On sharing I think you must be referring to Museworx. You can modify the invitation. If you want to share an additional image, upload it and share it as well. You can share as many as you want and all at once if you wish, but selecting multiple images and then clicking the Share With wizard.
Hope that helps.

I think of use use the quick response at the bottom of the page. If you do use the Add Reply button or edit your old response, you will see a checkbox on the screen the says "Check this if you would like to be notified when someone replies"
if you do not want to be notified everyime someone replies, make sure this is off.
Especially in this thread which is amazingly long...awesome!

Okay I haven't written in a little while... others have been addressing my concerns quite well. However I found one quite annoying thing. When you search for a professional in the sidebar menu, all you get is the featured artists. I have not been featured. No problem... but when someone searches for a professional and clicks illustrator and none come up, it makes me wonder how in the world someone would find me in that fashion or any other illustrator on the site for that matter.

| In addition to what T.Kyle mentioned - the showroom seems to rotate images, but they seem to be limited to just a few images that rotate and not all images. I can click the refresh button (multiple times) and get basically the same images each time with maybe one or two different ones. When I click "more" and get a list of showcase images, there are pages of images and the majority of these images, I have never seen shown on the Showcase page. |

Overall it looks good. Some things I did notice were: -After I uploaded a photo to the community, it gave me a confirmation but there was a misspelling in it. you should correct that. -in museworx, I just uploaded an image to turn into a jam file and it took awhile for my file to show up in my list of images. -and in that same section make it easier to view images at 100%. (I couldn't just double click the image I just uploaded in order to see if I uploaded the right one since that just brings up the description.) Or at least put some instructions near the 'project launch' button in 'my projects' so that people know that they have to click that in order to view an image at 100%. or some instructions in the place where I uploaded a jam file that says I have to go to my project then project launch. |

| My first impression of the site is really good. Thanks for inviting me. In the self service support page, under communities, I could not find this 'discussion' thread, though I accessed it from main page. Would appreciate if formatting facilities can be added to this 'add reply/ quick reply' section. |

My first impression was that it looks clean and should work well. Then somewhere in there was a pic of Aishwarya Rai, which was somewhat distracting. Then even worse were the images in the explanatory videos. It is somewhat unprofessional to have girly pics flash on your screen. It gives the wrong impression of the types of sites that I would visit. Anyway first impressions. will comment later on actual usage. |
