forgive me if this has already been addressed but would anyone else like their profile URL to be personalized, I'd love to put jamuse on my business card but a link the likes of
http://www.jamuse.com/ViewProfile.aspx?userID=3964
is just not practical, now if it could say something like www.Jamuse.com/cjosephbell then I can dump one of my poor hosting sites (artwanted- i'm looking at you) and use Jamuse, who then gets the futher exposure.
anyone else agree or like to comment?

CJosephBell,
It is a great idea, maybe the webmaster could put that to work. They have been doing a fantastic job putting this site together for all artist.

| It is a good idea as clients can remember the URL easily and will be great if they can implement it for members of advisory board to start with. |

I don't know, I like touch this idea like 3 months ago. Even gave them an example just like yours and I don't think they quite got it. BUT...... that is not to say they didn't get the message. However, I was once again not to long ago reminded that Jamuse is still under alot of development. Jamuse is not even truly public yet. You're on the board cause you got invited. Now new users to Jamuse have to contact Bruce directly otherwise they will just be users and not board members.
My point is, don't get ahead of yourself just yet. There are going to be changes coming and personal urls are very likely to be one of them. So don't lose you mind over this in any case.
And thanks for bringing this idea back up. DUCE!

Hi David :) I typed in exactly as you said above on 03/13/2008 for my user url >>> http://member.jamuse.com/fashionshooter >>>BUT after waiting for around 15 seconds thereafter, all I kept getting was the message below :( ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005' [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets]SQL Server does not exist or access denied. /member/default.asp, line 6 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First, I thought it was maybe because I was still logged in to the site, so I logged out and tried again. Still same "error" message :( Dario ~ |

Thanks Julie :) The link is working now ... must've been some glitch at the time, back then. Dario :) Off topic here > but I wish we could just click on any of the members' avatars on the left column and be taken to their profile page. |

| The personalized URLS feature is great but any chance instead of having to start it with http:// could it be made to work with the common www. instead or just member.jamuse.com/username I would like to add this address to my bus. cards etc, but most people when they type an address in skip over typing in http:// or even www. Using Safari on a Mac doesn't get me to it without having to manually type in http:// first. Same for sending a live link via email - I have to start the link http:// where as all the other sites we're listed with don't need the prefix.
Anyone with me on this ? Or just me? |

| you make a good point thoen, ideally, it should be as you suggested, I know I never type http:// or even www. , safari automatically adds it. |
