Hi, I was wondering how are people using Museworx, what are the known bugs, compatible browsers, and how you like it... I have been using basecamp to share files with clients, and using email to send sketches and comps, but I'm learning more about museworks, and I'm considering it...however I am just a bit concerned with functionality... This week I used Musewors to send a comp to a client, and they loved museworx but they complained because they couldn't print it... so I'm wondering if anyone is experiencing browser compatibility problems..or other problems. Any comments would be appreciated. Monica

Hi Monica,

I'm on a Mac, using Museworx with jpeg files, and notice it to be more stable on Firefox. There has been much progress made on its usability, however, I have experienced 2 recent issues.

1. The invite email was never received by the client, possibly going directly to their junk folder.

2. My savvy client went around the invite hyperlink and logged into Jamuse, went to Museworx directly, and tried to "launch project." It crashed Firefox on both Mac and PC, for some unknown reason. The re-invitation was received and things went fine thereafter, but the whole process was too much hassle to expect from a client.

Also, Safari's pop up window blocker tends to interfere with launching a project. I think potential is great, but at this moment, I'm going to wait to use Museworx with a client again until it's a bit more bulletproof.

Safari has a long way to go before it plays nice with Museworx, at least that has been my experience.  I have had the same problem with clients not receiving links to the projects.  They didn't go into the junk folder, they just never made it.  It really makes us look unprofessional when we rave about this great new product, and then it doesn't work.

I am beginning to have my doubts, and think they may have launched it too early.

For now I have signed up with "yousendit" to get files to my clients.  Works like a charm.  I would much rather use Jamuse, but it is just too unstable.

Regards,
Bryan

P.S. I had to hit the submit button like three or four times just to post this, and I am using Firefox on a Mac.  The preview just sat there and spun.  Beautiful.

I have seen only very minor problems with Museworks.  I am using Firefox and most of the site seems to work like a charm.

The only other issue I have had was trying to update my portfolio.  The images I uploaded showed up in my gallery but not the interactive gallery.  Not sure how to do that and all attemps have failed.  Haven't tried again in that last couple weeks.

The site looks good and I have a link to it on every page of my website were my "Linked In" link once was.

I'm very happy with what the site provides.  I think they need to do some more marketing and partner further with other companies.

It is quite easy to use the interactive gallery. Just go to MuseWorx and click 'Portfolio Manager' that is available on the left side. Once you click that, you get various options to deal with the files like Add, Remove, Open, Slide Show.

After deciding on the number of files you want to display, you can drag and drop the files to arrange in any particular order.

Hope this helps.

I have been using museworx on a vista system with Firefox and it has not given me any problems. I would try different browsers to see how museworx behaves.

Museworx has been great for me in terms of uploading items for my portfolio, and presenting my portfolio to potential clients as well.
Although it took a little time to get used to the system, but overall, well coordinated.

I use it in safari on a mac and have had no issues, at least no browser based issues. Allan, why would a client try to go around a hyperlink, or better yet try to launch the project themselves? I think the issue was the client that time. Bryan, there are tons of services available like yousendit, but nothing that comes close to ease of use or feature rich interface that jamuse offers, though I do feel that jamuse is still improving, and in case you didn't know, jamuse hasn't officially launched, we are all still beta testing from what I've read. Collaborating with clients is a breeze, Here's a very short example of processes: Meet with client and discuss what they need, create thumbnails, roughs, comps, finally meet again and collaborate in person, job is done, you get money, yay. Or, Collaborate by sending dozens of emails back and forth through the whole process besides creating thumbnails, roughs, comps, job is done, you get money, yay. Jamuse: meet client once(depending on job type), send files via jamuse that you know won't be printed and/or stolen with you losing out, being able to control how clients access files is great, they comment when they have time making it much easier on their schedule(in an easy to use and aesthetically pleasing way), job is done, you get paid, yay. The point being that using jamuse makes it much easier on you and the client, a good experience like that will ensure that they come back to you for more work. And to answer Monica's question about clients not being able to print, if you upload your work(preferably PDF in most freelance situations unless the client buys files and rights from you at a much inflated rate), then use jamuse's option to send an original file, they will get an email with the PDF(or other file) attached, or they can come to jamuse and print it. and look at this topic monica(the last post is great): http://jamuse.com/Discussions/tabid/54/forumid/3/tpage/11/view/topic/postid/42/Default.aspx#1545

Hi Vincent,

I can say the issue with my client was definitely not operator error. She circumvented the project hyperlink because it did not come. The account email, with user and password information did, though. After seeing the project email wasn't, she found, as a registered user, she had the same kind of access to Museworx that any user has. So, she resourcefully tried to access the project that way, through various browsers on various machines with several platforms, to no avail.

that makes sense allan, though I'd think that the message was somehow placed into her junk mail box or blocked by her ISP as possible spam or bulk junk mail.
