Not sure what you mean about not being able to upload...no reports of trouble, but please keep us informed.

You both should look at the "Learning center" by clicking on the link in the right menu. It will show you step by step how to share files. One takes a couple of clicks and you are done... Hint - use the Share with Wizard.

David,

What I mean is that a client cant download files we share here.

If I share files with a client. He or she must be able to download them to use them, for the reason we agreed on..

I dont need to go to the leaning centre here..!
I talked to someone here who comfirmed that it is not possible to download files for a client ion the project, Muse worx area.
Its not an error replorted. Its a fact !

I find this like something really missing among all advance functions here.

Thanks,

Karin

Karin,

Seems to be some conversion. File sharing is built into the system and only takes a few seconds.

1. In Museworx, select the file(s)
2. Click "Share with" - there are other ways to do this as well.
3. Select Share Original.
4. Enter or select their username or email address
5. Modify the message
6. Send away

If you receive any errors, please send them to Support or if you wish to me direct and we'll look into it.

I had a similar issue this morning. I attempted for an HOUR to get 4 files uploaded for "sharing" with a client. I never could get the files to upload - even after using several different browsers. The error messages were very unspecific - something like"unable to upload file". I was hoping to use this as a test case for sharing files - I was wondering what the client had to do to download them - but I gave up in frustration and uploaded them to my server instead and sent the client the link - MUCH easier - so what is the point of this again??? I like the look and feel of the site and all - but not that easy to get things done...

Snow,

Sorry it didn't work for you...can't suggest a reason based on your comments. The system is being used to share thousands of files everyday. Works great! Please try again. Maybe the files were just in use by you system...?

@snowdog: I uploaded about 30 files last night to use as a portfolio, and just now I uploaded a file that was in use by my system to check if it would work, and it did. what format were your files? the only possible reason I could imagine that the files wouldn't upload would be an incompatible file format, but I've uploaded jpg, tiff, ai, and pdf so far with no issues. could you perhaps try from a different computer? at least then you'd know that the issue is something with your system, or if it persists, it's an issue with museworx.
@karin: if after clicking the share with button, you select the original file option, the file is attached to the email, they don't even have to visit the site, they can just right click "filename.pdf" or whatever the file name is and select download and save it to their computer or they can just click it and it will download to their desktop and then open it. I recommend pdf so you know that they can view it whether using a mac or a winbox.
on an off topic, I used the new museworx 2 last night and it was great for the most part, I already emailed bruce with some thoughts.
