You watch the superbowl just for the commercials .
You can spot bad typography from 100 yards away .
You can name more than 200 fonts in under five minutes .
You are completely immune to subliminal advertising .
You look upon a well - designed project with either sympathy OR extreme jealousy .
Your hand is permanently stuck in the shape of a mouse .
You tell stories of exacto - knife inflicted wounds with a grizzled sort of pride .
You practically take caffeine intravenously .
You have an appreciation for everything unique .
You 've been spending three days non - stop on a project and it still looks like shit . You find yourself overcome by Deathlust .
You buy a CD or DVD for the artwork , even if you have no idea what the actual music or film is like .
You look at the clock and see it 's about midnight and think ' I 'll go to bed now ' . . . and you actually go to bed about 2 - 3am .
You need someone else to point out that you 're sitting in a room in front of the compute

How do I know when I’m on the right creative track?
It has been said that the hardest thing for an artist to know is when to stop.
I don’t know of any painter that hasn’t over worked a painting or not taken it far enough.
How do you know when a painting is done? Are all the colour values uniform with so many complimentary and contrasting hues in a row? Is the feature element of the painting sitting in precisely the correct place on the canvas so the viewer will know you designed the painting with particular forethought? Have you created a perfect balance between form and space?
The truth is, all that stuff is academic. The elements that make a painting truly spectacular are the ones that come from within. We all know ins ...

Good afternoon to everyone!
Things have been extremely busy here at the studio the last few weeks and I have been moving forward on the exciting next phase for the studio. Everything is finally falling into place but I'm currently in the process of relocating and in the meantime will be utilizing Austin, Texas as the staging point for all of my activities. That doesn't mean that I'm not available for projects everywhere! If there is anything I can do to assist you in reaching your goals, please feel free to drop me a line. I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Stay safe and keep creating!

Hi folks! Thanks for checking in. I've decided to move my musings over to blogger, I hope you don't mind! I will be able to post images there, maybe show off some works in progress, or some of the visuals I encounter day to day that also inspire me, since I happen to be a very visual gal.
So, here's the link, hope to see you soon on blogger! http://nancydraws.blogspot.com/
Thanks, Nancy

So, I am not sure of the value of a blog in my profession, but at least it amuses me. I had a great first quarter for work, but april is slow with a tone of tire kickers. I have successfully discouraged the wrong clients for me which is a success unto itself. I would rather clean toilets than work with a bad client. What is bad, a client that focuses on volume and not quality, one that shops you like you are an item on a wall mart sale rack, one that believes that their in only value in their professional art, one who lacks the art buying experience, but just enough to make them clumsy and rude. In May I am shooting on location for a month in CA and I am looking forward to the change of scene.
